Poetry

George A. Boyd began writing poetry in 1961, when he produced his first haiku and free verse poems. He began seriously writing poetry from 1978 to 1981—when he wrote seven volumes of poetry, over 1,200 poems in all. A few of these poems were featured in Pearls: The Journal of the RAND Poetry Club. George was president of the RAND Poetry Club from 1978 to 1980.

Some of the best of these poems were contained in The Night of Dates (1983). Its second edition appears as a part of The Collected Poetry of George A. Boyd, volume one, which was released in December 2008. Two additional volumes of his poems are now available, The Collected Poetry of George A. Boyd, volume two (2011) and The Collected Poetry of George A. Boyd, volume one (2012).

Books

George first began meditating in 1965. Since that time, has in one form or another, captured his meditational insights and discoveries in a series of essays and articles. Many of these articles appear in a series of books and articles that have never been published. Samples of George's recent writing (1988 onward) on a variety of topics may be previewed on the web site of the Mudrashram® Institute of Spiritual Studies in our on-site Library.

As of 2013, George has published 18 books: three books of poetry, seven books for the general public, and eight books for the Initiate’s Library imprint series—these are four books written for students who have completed our foundation meditation courses, either the Mudrashram® Master Course in Meditation or the Accelerated Meditation Program (level one), and four books for students who have completed our advanced meditation course, the Mudrashram® Advanced Course in Meditation (level two).

We expect to publish additional books, both in regular book format and e-Book format. You can sign up to be notified of the release of our new volumes here, and you can also receive a free PDF about beginning the practice of meditation.

Meditation

Meditation has played a major part in George's life. It has given him access to an inexhaustible fount of inspiration and knowledge, and has been the source of many of his articles and poems.

George's most significant work has been the mapping of the Great Continuum of Consciousness. The Mudrashram® Correspondence Course, a two-year meditation program, is a detailed guide to this Continuum.

George became the teacher and initiator of the Mudrashram® lineage in 1983. The classes he teaches feature Integral meditation, upon which he has expounded in depth in his essays and articles.
